My Final Painting for Spring Semester- My First Abstract Painting

For my last painting we did a more abstract subject matter, departing from realistic still lives was challenging and rewarding all at once.

We started with layered fabrics and vellum paper as inspiration to focus on flatness and color but as the assignment continued I completely left behind the fabrics in front of me to create a painting with many layers, glazes, and washes.
