In the first week of Color and Composition we have been doing an intensive study on one of the most simple marks you can make in art.. LINES
Who knew there was so much that could be discovered about lines?
In class we did simple exercises that yielded some very powerful results..
Exercise 1: Place 5 Lines on the page one having more emphasis than the others. No overlapping.

Exercise 2: Place as many lines as you can, with constantly changing direction. No overlapping.

Exercise 3: Using the density of line create perspective. No overlapping

Exercise 4: Draw a series of lines that all react to a common point. No overlapping.

Exercise 5: Draw one continuous energetic line that bounces off the page.

All of the exercise were done with a time limit of 20 minutes so that we would get comfortable and experiment with the different uses of lines. As our final homework project we were asked to complete a line drawing of any sort on Bristol with a Micron pen.
Here is my completed first project assignment
