Currently at the Dodd the Kaleidoscope show is on display. This features artwork created in the studio core classes like Drawing 1, Color and Composition, and 3D Design.

I am currently in both Color and Comp and 3D Design, but last semester I took Drawing 1 so I had a chance to submit artworks for the show and they are both being displayed. I have been super excited about the show in general and the closing reception which will be this Tuesday. This is my first time being featured in a exhibit here in college and frankly, in life. I am so excited about the opportunities this may present.

This assignment was to compose 6 views of the same object. On paper with charcoal. It ended up being my favorite piece from the entire semester. I enjoy the use of light in both drawing and painting so that is something I tried to incorporate into each drawing last semester. I think it was successfully executed in this composition because of the light and metal spoon relationship.

The directions given for this assignment were to use perspective to display both an interior and an exterior view. Also done on paper with charcoal this rearview mirror was one of my more creative works throughout the semester.

This is not my artwork, but instead one that stood out to me. The use of color is amazing to say the least.

Also not my piece, just phenomenal shading and shadowing. I thought it was too great not to share.

Anyone who hasn't checked out the Kaleidoscope Show going on throughout the month of August at the Lamar Dodd School of Art, I highly recommend stopping by and checking out the work being produced. It will make your day.
